“Conflagration” is a visceral, almost apocalyptic watercolor that feels less painted than ignited. From a molten horizon of searing oranges and blood-reds, towering flames of acid-green, black, and violet rise and twist like living entities, their edges dissolving into smoke and light. The fire consumes everything yet somehow remains strangely beautiful, its upward surge both destructive and transcendent, as though the canvas itself is burning from within. Dark silhouettes of charred forms (trees? figures? ruins?) melt into the inferno, while drips and bleeds of pigment run downward like cooling lava. This painting captures the terrifying majesty of total annihilation, transforming raw terror into a hypnotic, radiant spectacle that leaves the viewer standing, awestruck, at the edge of the blaze.
